Exide Technologies Plastic Reprocessing Operator- Reading Location in Reading, Pennsylvania

Overview

  1. Follow all department and plant safety rules. Be aware of and contribute to Safety Training Observation Program. (S.T.O.P). Wear all safety equipment required such as respirators, safety glasses, metatarsal boots, gloves, face shields, and hearing protection. Forklift driver certified to operate mobile equipment in a safe manner and use operator's SOP and sign off sheet.

  2. Be knowledgeable of Plastic building equipment. Know and observe proper Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for operation of the equipment associated with the Plastics Department. Know and understand all startup/shutdown/operation, maintenance and malfunction SOP for Plastic building equipment.

  3. Be able to carry out duties unsupervised for periods of time. Be able to use knowledge of system to solve problems and maintain operations. Any cleanup issues must be addressed ASAP in a safe manner and all working surfaces, floors, and equipment must be kept clean.

  4. Be well versed in EXCELL. Know all about Standard Work, 5s, QCPC, Takt Time, TPM, and what a kaizen event is. Be familiar with the Exide Company wide Lean process and requirements to achieve plant certification. Be prepared to help other departments as needed.

  5. Be able to load and unload products.

  • Hold blood lead levels low by promoting good safety practices.

  • Accountability for recordable accidents.

  • Operate all equipment in accordance with established SOP's.

  • Comply with written report requirements.

  • Provide ideas/solutions to operation improvements.

  • Participate on miscellaneous improvement teams.
