Exide Technologies Process Engineer in Platteville, Wisconsin

Overview

This position will work alongside the Operations and Maintenance Teams to improve manufacturing processes. They will maximize efficiency for machining operations by reducing cycle times and decreasing downtime. This position will work in a team environment leading projects and implementing process improvement initiatives to promote a continuous improvement atmosphere in production and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Make recommendations to improve production capability and reduce downtime.

  • Review existing processes and develop solutions to increase productivity and quality or reduce costs. Evaluate new tools, equipment and processes.

  • Coordinate with plant maintenance and production personnel as needed to complete plant projects.

  • Oversee and assign work to outside contractors as needed to ensure timely and satisfactory project completion.

  • Ensures compliance with approved production methods and quality standards.

  • Ensure project scheduling avoids conflict with other production or maintenance concerns and that projects are able to be completed on schedule.

  • Provide the necessary training for new equipment, or equipment modifications, so that personnel are able to run equipment properly, efficiently, and safely.

  • Manage capital projects that may be assigned. Ensure the project is completed in a timely manner and within budget guidelines established for the project.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • BS in an Engineering discipline required

  • PLC programming highly desired

  • Six years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

  • Strongly prefer two years of secondary schooling in specialized maintenance skills area

  • Strong mechanical background
