Exide Technologies Sr. Cost/Financial Analyst in Milton, Georgia

Overview

The core responsibility of the Senior Cost / Financial Analyst: Inventory Management, Financial Analysis and Product Costing support. The successful incumbent will assist in the development of financial models for forecast/budgets and analytical support.

Responsibilities

Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Prepare, maintain and distribute sophisticated financial reports for internal reporting.

  • Run queries to retrieve and manipulate data as needed for projects/analysis.

  • Prepare and maintain actual financial cost reports.

  • Develop analyze and prepare rates and terms needed to achieve financial targets/goals.

  • Provide financial leadership and recommendations to controller and management team.

  • Participate in the month-end close process and budgeting/forecasting.

  • Assist and Lead annual physical inventory audits.

  • Identify areas for improvement in business processes and work with necessary stakeholders to implement positive changes.

  • Interact with Production Control to ensure Bills of Materials (BOM) are accurate and up to date. Review and audit BOM’s to ensure they reflect the latest manufacturing practices.

  • Analyze actual labor, material, and overhead cost against Standard/Budget. Research and explain variances. Report this information monthly or as needed.

  • Work with the finance department to implement and apply cost accounting policies and procedures as they are derived.

  • Support plant controller’s efforts for implementing and maintaining internal controls at the plant for operations, sales and finance.

  • Prepares ad hoc analysis and other requests as required by Management

Qualifications

Required Skills/ Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience in related position

  • Managing financial and operational requirements

  • Expertise in identifying opportunities and lead change management programs

  • Demonstrated skill to analyze and present complex data in an easy to understand format to non-financial stakeholders at all levels of a manufacturing organization

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

  • Excellent communication skill within all levels of the organization

  • Adept ability to influence and guide management toward strategic decisions

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • JDE experience

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or equivalent; MBA a plus

License:

  • CPA (Preferred)
