Exide Technologies Product Marketing Manager in Milton, Georgia


The Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for managing new and existing products for the applicable market segments (Telecom, Utilities, Renewables,UPS) in the Network Power product line to meet the objectives of the business. This includes setting the overall direction for our product lineup and new product line enhancements and seeking alignment with teams from Sales, Engineering, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing and Operations.

The Product Marketing Manager must define segmentation, targeting and positioning for the products, and manage the product line P&L to include volume, pricing, and margins. Ensuring that internal cross-functional interactions occur and a deep understanding of external customer needs are critical to the role. Providing leadership on the product plan portfolio, marketing communications, distribution strategies and overall product life cycle (product line and SKU level) management are also key facets of the position.


  • Act as the lead for the Network Power segment, taking Marketing leadership of new product innovation while supporting our current and evolving product lineup with strategic tools to grow the business.

  • Develop and support the strategic plan for these segments and coordinate with the Director of Marketing for the business unit to create the annual business unit plan.

  • Act as main liaison between our Sales team (customer focused) and Engineering / Quality / Manufacturing / Operations / Finance to ensure development of winning products and services.

  • Have the ability to to articulate technical details into applicable sales savvy materials with the Industrial Marketing Communications team.

  • Manage Product Plan / Service Plan for segment and responsible for new additions to meet needs or to capitalize on opportunities identified.

  • Responsible for milestone passage of products & services and successful launches under challenging timelines.

  • Portfolio management to include SKU additions and lifecycle monitoring for phase in and phase out.

  • Develop insights based on research and create opportunities for product development.

  • Identify opportunities for both horizontal and vertical pricing adjustments to achieve business results and collaborate.

  • Identify market trends and competitors’ actions impacting the varirous market segments.

  • Colloborate with Marketing Analyst on market forecasts.

  • Be the subject matter expert for the Network Power channels of business, recommending actions to improve business results to achieve quarterly and annual targets. This includes advertising, sales training, customer training, promotions and campaigns.

  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders through persuasive oral and written communications, including sales presentations, strategic planning, and PMO reviews.

  • Prepares a regular competitive review for each product along with annual strategic plan.

  • Provides sales support by attending conventions, trade shows/meetings and seminars or making sales calls at the discretion of Sales management


Education, Experience, Certifications :

  • College degree, MBA preferred

  • At least 12 years of experience working in marketing and/or sales.

  • 5 years in Marketing, technical marketing skills a plus

  • Telecom, UPS, Renewables, Utilities energy storage background preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in creating business case and executing product development plans that have resulted in profitable growth.

  • Demonstrated cross-functional team leadership.

  • Travel up to 25% will be required
