Exide Technologies Human Resources Generalist in Milton, Georgia


The human resource generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, affirmative action and HRIS. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization. The generalist must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.


  1. Acts as an employee relations specialist with supervision from Director, HR.

  2. Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.

  3. Suports the tracking of employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner (i.e., three months, six months, one year and yearly thereafter).

  4. Supports HR Leadership with special projects;

  5. Assists leadership with annual compliance requirements such as EEO-1 reports, affirmative action.

  6. Responsible for ensuring updates to HRIS system are accurate; assist with auditing data as requested.

  7. Participates in orientation for new hires and conducts HR related training as needed.

  8. Responsible for tracking, maintaining and ordering employee service awards on a quarterly basis.

  9. Completes various HR projects in a timely manner.

  10. Backs up all other HR positions as needed.

  11. Counsels and advises management and other employees on employee relation issues.

  12. Stays up-to-date on policies and programs and can answer employee questions as they arise.

  13. Analyze Exide policies and procedures and recommends improvements. Provide guidance and clarification on policies.

  14. Improve manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying employee relations problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing the selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees.

  15. Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action and litigation cases.

  16. Administrative responsibilities such as HR file management, tracking of ethics cases and responses.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.


Local travel to various worksites is required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred.


The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education, Experience, Certifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or 3-4 years of experience.

  • Experience as an HR generalist, employee investigations, process improvement, and understanding of an HR function is required.

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge :

  • Collaborative/team based management style.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment guidelines is required.

  • Strong computer skills including Windows-based programs such as Excel, Power Point, Word and Outlook is required.

  • Strong HR presence, capable of engendering trust and confidence of all elements of the workforce.

  • Capable of serving as an effective advocate of employee interests.

Demonstrated track record of achieving or maintaining a positive workplace culture.
