Exide Technologies Director, Service in Milton, Georgia

Overview

This key leadership position develops and implements service strateies and marketing policies/ programs in order to maintain and improve the competitive position and profitability of the organization. The position is responsible for Motive and Network Power service functions and will interact with other Exide personnel to explore and share best practices, including effective utilization of working capital in the business. The successful individual will have demonstrated ability working on a cross-functional basis across multiple business units within a corporation with a proven service oriented backgound.

  • Directs all aspects of service delivery, customer care, marketing, cost control and cost analysis, health, safety and environmental assurance and capital budgeting.

  • Increase market share and profitability of both the Motive Power and Network Power operations

  • Develop new relationships with reps, branches, lift truck dealers, service providers and end-users.

  • Improve existing relationship with outside representatives, branches, lift truck dealers, service providers and end-users.

  • Develop, direct and manage relationships and activity with sales.

  • Develops policies and practices as required to meet new situations.

  • Defines the long and short-term goals of the business unit.

  • Provide single source information on all key accounts, forecasting potential, agreements, etc.

  • Analyze and measure programs to ensure objectives are attained including revenue growth and profitability. Track, manage and report attainment of key milestones with each program.

  • Coordinate activities with Field Sales personnel and Regional Sales and Service Management.

  • Participate in periodic meetings to review status of each program as well as evaluate and recommend action plans based on these reviews to further develop these programs.

  • Develop creative solutions and approaches with staff that allows Exide/GNB to differentiate itself versus competitors.

  • Develop revenue forecasts and operating and capital budgets; work closely with management to establish sales plans and strategic objectives.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Minimum 7 years experience in sales/service within an Industrial market: or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must have experience in supervising personnel and with budgeting and cost containment

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Proven success with consultative sales approach and relationship building

  • Possess high level of business acumen and the quantitative/analytical capacity to understand complex sales processes

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to various levels of management, customers and employees

  • Ability to lead and develop staff into a high-performing, cohesive team

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts useful in financial analysis, budgeting and reporting, and apply financial reasoning skills

  • Quantifiable history of meeting and exceeding sales goals.

  • Effective leadership skills with well-developed sales management skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Travel, other requirements:

  • Estimated overnight travel for the position is 50%.
