Exide Technologies Commodity Manager in Milton, Georgia


We are seeking candidates for the role of Procurement Commodity Manager for the North America Region located at the corporate headquarters of Exide Technologies. The role will report directly to the Sr. Director of Procurement. The function of the Procurement Commodity Manager will be to lead a segment of suppliers in accomplishing the strategic goals set by Director of Procurement. The Procurement Commodity Manager will be responsible for KPI’s that focus on cost, quality, and delivery to support the business.


  • Be expected to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments

  • Being fully engaged with each of the plants’ Material Managers for their strategic procurement goals

  • Being fully engaged with the Demand Planning team

  • Maintain and communicate specific metrics established for the Procurement team

  • Manage panel of suppliers to drive and maintain the most competitive pricing and payment terms

  • Responsible for year over year cost savings on repeat buy, beating or meeting PPV targets and driving improvement in working capital through improved payment terms

  • Recommend actions to improve business working capital to achieve quarterly and annual targets

  • Perform reviews with key strategic suppliers


Education, Experience, Certifications:

  • College degree preferred

  • 5 years in procurement, purchasing or sourcing or supply chain

Competencies, Skills, Knowledge:

  • Draw accurate conclusions from financial and quantitative information

  • Summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making

  • Respond to the unique needs of individual factories or facilities

  • Seek feedback from suppliers and internal customers to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Executive level communications and selling skills

  • Demonstrate strong business ethical standards.

  • Possess a strong sense of customer centricity while balancing the procurement principles of cost, quality, and delivery.

  • Be a leader and agent for change management. Learn, embrace, or discover new technology or methodologies for improving performance.

  • Be able to resolve independently tactical issues that can reasonably be resolved at a manager level.

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft suite of products.

Travel, other requirements:

  • Proficiency working in JDE is a plus

  • Possess the acumen for working in a fast-paced environment

  • Travel of up to 25% may be required
