Exide Technologies Process Engineer Technician in Manchester, Iowa

Overview

Engineering Technicians act as hands-on experts for assigned process/equipment throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop, document, and maintain standards and specifications for plant processes, equipment, and operations.

  2. Effectively work with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to keep plant processes running at optimal levels of:

  3. Quality

  4. Productivity

  5. Safety

  6. Work with operators, operations leaders, and engineering to develop, document, and implement continuous improvement ideas.

  7. Collect and analyze data to support and implement problem resolution.

  8. Do hands-on engineering tasks:

  9. Plant layout improvement ideas

  10. Equipment improvement ideas

  11. Process improvement ideas

  12. Process review and data collection

  13. Develop tables, graphs

  14. Do minor engineering calculations and estimates

  15. Do plant level project management

  16. Submit weekly and monthly reports and updates on assigned areas to keep operations and management teams informed.

  17. Accomplish assigned tasks autonomously.

Qualifications

Two year technical degree in suitable field plus five ( 5) years of manufacturing experience are required.

Physical demands include hearing, speaking, seeing, writing, standing, sitting, walking, bending, grasping, pulling, pushing, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, and repetitive use of hands.

Work Environment

Normal office environment as well as exposure to lead, fumes, noise, dirt, hazards, chemicals, extreme heat, extreme cold in the plant.
