Exide Technologies Electrical Maintenance Technician in Manchester, Iowa
Position available in Manchester, Iowa - relocation bonus available!
The starting pay rate will be $27.85 per hour; skill and business need will determine pay.
This position will require the ability to repair, maintain and install production machinery, with a strong focus on electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting. As a result, the right candidate will have the knowledge in panel building, ladder logic troubleshooting, motor controls and VFD installation, ability to connect to and troubleshoot PLC’s and panels, as well as essential mechanical skills. Candidate will have the ability to make small PLC program changes and up to writing and implementing advanced logic. To be successful, the individual will be familiar with electrical schematics, ladder logic and various electrical drawings.
MUST be available to work 2nd shift (6:00 pm-6:00 am)
Shifts are scheduled for 12 hours; rotating weekend work should also be expected.

Repair and maintain high speed filling, packaging, and support equipment.
Practice safe work habits. Follows proper lock out tag out procedures as required. Completes all OSHA required training as required and correct any unsafe conditions as necessary. Knowledgeable in OSHA laws and regulations.
Responds to calls from line supervisors or operators to repair equipment as needed.
Provides training to machine operators or runs equipment when needed.
Performs change-overs on equipment as required.
Schedule and perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Two (2) years maintenance experience (strongly preferred in a manufacturing environment) or two years post high school training or combination of both.
- Multimeter, amp probe, lathe, mill, benchtop grinder, drill press, other testing equipment, bench and hand power tools, numerous types of powered equipment, control panels, and safety equipment.
- Must be able to wear work uniform, personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with sideshields, heat resistant sleeves as needed, hearing protection; metatarsal steel-toed shoes; blue leather, blue hynit, or white cotton gloves, and respirator as required by Lead in Air's in the department.
