Exide Technologies Quality Assurance Technician in Fort Smith, Arkansas
The QA Technician will support the management of process quality controls throughout the lead-acid plant. The QA Technician will help to collect, analyze, and report on data about product and process critical characteristics. This position also supports production and customer related issues with standard troubleshooting tools to determine root cause and corrective actions. Work direction comes from Quality Engineer(s), ISO Coordinator, and the Quality Manager.
This position will be first shift with some occasional test checks on off hours.
Gain working knowledge of all processes in the lead-acid plant
Gain working knowledge of all lab testing processes in the quality lab
Follow all established SOP while performing QA testing in production or QA laboratory
Review and recommend revisions (as necessary) to quality system documentation
Collect and maintain data from critical processes for analysis and reporting
Perform calibrations of equipment when required
Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Perform job function in a safe and healthy manner according to plant guidelines

High school graduate or GED equivalent
Completion of technical vocational studies, or quality technician certified (i.e. ASQ)
Previous industrial quality experience is preferred
Proficiency in math, reading, and writing
Skilled in written/verbal/electronic communication
Good computer skills including use of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and other software (Google Suite is a plus)
Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions on the work that needs to be performed
Communicate and maintain records of results and prepare required reports.
Maintain working area, equipment and tools in functional and safe condition.
