Exide Technologies Branch Coordinator in Edmonton, Alberta
The Branch Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Branch Office in areas such as accounting, customer service, and record keeping. Under the supervision of the Customer Care Manager, the Branch Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring timely customer interaction and support. Primary responsibilities include execution of administrative customer requirements, participation and input into resolving customer complaints and issues, accounts receivable collections, accounts payable coding, inventory control, and timely & accurate customer order entry, processing, & completion. The ability to work and participate in a team environment is critical to succeeding in this position.
College Degree in Accounting is preferred and a minimum of two years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with JD Edwards and previous experience working in a customer support role is a plus.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent computer skills in (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Knowledge of spreadsheets applications & Internet.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and sales tax.
Obtain established customer orders through telemarketing, faxes, customer call-ins, or sales force. Maintain and update customer information for branch delivery routing.
Responsible for accurately completing customer orders and returns daily. Audit reports must be completed daily for previous day’s deliveries (Battery Activity Report).
Responsible for branch filing: Customer shipment/return paperwork (branch serviced and cross-dock); customer consignments; A/R reconciliation forms, checks, credit card, money orders; inventory files–daily balancing, transfer shipments, transfer receipts, inventory adjustments/dispositions, monthly cycle counts; and A/P vendor files-invoices and petty cash reimbursements.
Ensure that all AP documents are audited, coded, scanned into Gauss and forwarded to the Corp Office for payment. Follow up as necessary. File all scanned documents in separate Vendor Files by calendar year for 1099 reporting.
Responsible for Accounts Receivable collection for all branch-billed customer accounts, resolving customer billing issues, and tracking payment plan if established.
Reconcile Petty Cash Box and prepare for reimbursement, reconcile Cash Sales Box and obtain money orders for all cash sales, fax Credit Card reconciliation form daily into corporate, and mail all customer checks received into the Exide lockbox daily.
Analyze the following daily audit reports and correct/complete orders to keep reports clean with only current information: Customer back-orders, Open Orders, Voided RV Generated Orders, Held RT Generated Orders, Orders at Next Status, Transfer Variance and Open Purchase Orders.
Mail DC paperwork back to the servicing distribution center. Make copies of all paperwork and file in the branch cross-dock files for backup.
Scan all Special Requirement Customers POD’s into Gauss daily.
Remain in frequent contact with District Operations Manager, Regional Coordinator, Regional Business Manager, corporate credit department, and warehouse personnel.
Answer phone, handle mail and other duties as assigned.
