GNB Industrial Power is part of Exide Technologies which is a $3B market leader in the battery industry. We are developing battery charging controllers with wireless to cloud communication capabilities for application in the distribution and industrial markets throughout the world. We have an immediate opening for a talented candidate.

We are looking for a motivated Director of Software Engineering to join our team to lead the development of an embedded Linux based product. This product runs a custom Linux kernel running on a 32-bit ARM CPU.


Ideal candidates will:

  • Possess technical expertise in Software Engineering

  • Have experience in leading, managing and growing a team of product focused software engineers

  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team

  • Should have a good understanding of the fundamental software development concepts such as modules, layering, OO vs. procedural, etc. is a must

  • Have understanding of software validation and verification processes for technical product development with the ability to generate test descriptions and perform systems evaluation and testing of product systems

  • Provide effective technical guidance, facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts involving technical approaches, designs and coding practices

  • Have demonstrated ability to analyze and solve complex problems and identify best practices

  • Be future oriented, anticipate outcomes, decisive and results oriented

  • Have excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Have strong business acumen and agility within a mid-size, matrixed organization

  • Possess the ability to listen, adopt and influence are essential


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required

  • Master’s degree preferred

  • 8+ years demonstrated experience in Software Engineering with 5 plus years of management experience
